Principal Environment Artist with almost 7 years of experience in the Games Industry. Inspired by classical painting and the great outdoors, my work showcases skill across a wide variety of pipelines and techniques. I am passionate about collaboration, and have a knack for spearheading the technical challenges that most artists don’t want to take on.
Currently I am a Principal 3D Environment Artist at Stoic Studio working on Towerborne. Here I have played a major part in creating new biomes, from concept through final approval, making assets, set dressing, and lighting entire biomes.
I have also taken up R&D on many new features and pipelines for the team, from adjusting and revamping our UI screen background and lighting system, to a full lighting and color-grading overhaul of the game for HDR. I also managed and optimized the environment team’s uber-shader throughout development, and contributed to many other technical efforts.
I was asked to lead the environment effort for our in-game cut scenes and marketing cinematics, composing and lighting shots, and providing direction for cinematic outsource teams. Separate from that, I also oversaw both 2D and 3D outsource partners for our normal environment art efforts, planning tasks and providing feedback to individual contributors.
Residing in Portland Oregon, I like to spend my free time with my family and pets in the great outdoors. Backpacking, mountain biking, and fly fishing are just a few of the passions that keep me energized and inspired.
